Did you wake up today with an image of who you are? I hope you woke up this morning and took a few moments to breathe in the new day. I hope you laid in your bed and felt your chest moving with every breath. I hope you reflected on the miracle that you are and the wonder of how your physical body works….every organ, every cell, every tissue. Most of all, I hope you thanked your heart for pumping, your lungs for breathing, your eyes for opening, and your mind for thinking. I hope you remembered the gift your life is, the gifts you’ve been given, and the gift you give to the world when you hold a truthful image of yourself throughout the day.
Or….
Did you wake up this morning in a rush to start your list, burdens on your mind, and overwhelm for the day ahead? Did you think about another day of staying on your diet, another day of doing your routine over again, another battle day you are fighting in the world of trying to be good enough? Did you feel ugly? Depressed? Discouraged? Frustrated? Angry? Exhausted? Critical? Was your image of yourself false by believing that you are less than?
You SEE…..
An image is literally a mirror reflection of something.
The image you hold of yourself will reflect the experience you have today.
For example…
If you think you are unhealthy or ugly somehow and you feel unhealthy or ugly somehow , then you will have experiences throughout the day that will reflect that image…you will likely treat your body with disrespect through your choices. You will likely compare your body with other people and judge yourself harshly. You will likely become critical of yourself and find weaknesses about yourself that keep you from feeling able to overcome your challenges. You will likely ignore all the amazing qualities you have and dismiss compliments. Your heart, mind, and body will likely hold on to what you perceive as the problem because you think about it and feel it is a problem. You will likely stay in a negative cycle.
BUT….
If you think you are healthy and beautiful and you feel healthy and beautiful, then you will have experiences throughout the day that reflect that image….you will likely make choices to treat your body respectfully. You will likely establish healthy habits physically and emotionally. You will likely maintain an optimistic attitude to reach your goals. You will likely be more aware of your amazing qualities and try to share them often. You will likely feel thankful for your body, gifts and talents. Your heart, mind, and body will likely let go of negative influences because you think about what is going well for you and you feel able to meet your challenges. You will likely move forward with your goals.
BEWARE…
You may be tricked into thinking that you must start from the problem and address what is hindering you. But the most effective changes come and remain when you start from the solution. This means you turn your focus to the image you would like to have of yourself and then choose the thoughts, feelings, and actions that fit you into that image. You are essentially be-ing who you want to be instead of trying to reach a destination or solution. The first question I ask a client is “What’s your intention today?” I don’t ask a client “What problem do you have today?” These two questions have very different energy. The first creates positive desires. The latter creates negative focus.
You might ask….
How do I think I’m healthy and beautiful or feel healthy and beautiful if I’m overweight, ill, unfit, depressed, discouraged, or overwhelmed?
Well….simply put…..
You wake up every morning and thank each and any part of your body that is serving you right in that moment. You think about how much you appreciate health and feel the health of the functioning parts of your body. Think on the beauty you share when you smile or speak kindly. Think about parts of your body and personality that you like. Ponder your talents. (Everybody has talents…you may have a talent of exercising faith or loving another unconditionally or being determined to make a difference in someone’s life or recognizing the beauty in nature or appreciating the arts, etc.)
You feel what your spirit would say to you if you would listen to how beautiful you are.
Then….
BE your true self by choosing thoughts, feelings, and actions that are true to your spirit.
You do this… AND….
You will reflect a truthful image of yourself because you are filling your soul with just how blessed you truly are! And that is an image that is projecting outward as you share a better version of yourself with the world!
KYMAH TIP: Visualize light in your body everyday. Start at the top of your head by seeing light come into your head. See the light go down your entire body all the way to your toes. Breathe while you are visualizing the light pouring into your body. This helps strengthen your Aura from the inside out. Your Aura is the energy around you that is emanating from you. People with healthy and bright Auras generally have a happier or uplifting energy about their lives. Try this visualization and claim a truer image of yourself!
